Introduction to the Securities Financing Transactions Regulation - SFTR

SFTR is designed to encourage greater transparency in repo and securities lending and borrowing markets. It will introduce an extensive reporting regime for these transactions in Europe. Alexander Westphal from ICMA’s Market Practice and Regulatory Policy Team explains the implications  of SFTR, the timetable for its introduction and what the ICMA is doing to help members with implementation.
